Hugh Holland

Mid seventies, the hair was long and the skate was pure...
Oklahoma photographer Hugh Holland, although not a skater himself, was captivated by skateboarding. He soon befriended the boys from Santa Monica and Venice scene (including the famous Z-boys) and drove them in his van from spot to spot documenting the beginning of modern skateboarding. The beautiful distinctive colors are mainly due to the fact that he was shooting late afternoons.
